Chances are you’ve seen Pepsi Max’s ‘Test Drive’ video, which went viral to the tune of 40m views. A brilliant ad, but many questioned whether it was faked. One car blog writer in particular, Travis Okulski, claimed that Nascar driver Jeff Gordon didn’t even drive the car and that everyone in it was an actor.
Enter Pepsi Max and Jeff Gordon for a sequel, featuring none other than Okulski as its victim. (more…)

There are a few basic rules to follow if you represent a brand trying to leverage the power of social media. Chief among them should be Don’t hold a Twitter Q&A session at exactly the same time as you deliver earth-shatteringly bad news to your customers. This ad from Dollar Shave Club is one of our absolute faves. A lesson in viral marketing (and although it’s bloody funny, it’s also spot on for their brand and works as a powerful call to action). Enough said…

Ignore Forlan, it’s the ad behind him that made me laugh. Great advice, presumably from the South African government: “Arrive Alive”. Well, I usually try to thanks. Sadly, it’s not really in your hands in South Africa – they may as well use the strapline “try not to get shot”. Click on the image to see it full-size.
